PhD in Statistics

Hola! I am Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research at Universidad de Málaga.

Before that, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at OASYS group and visiting researcher at Macquaire University in Sidney. In 2020, I got my PhD from the Department of Statistics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid with the dissertation “Depth-based methods for Functional Data Analysis”. During my doctoral period, I had the pleasure to be a visiting researcher at Mox Laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano and at the College of Business and Economics of the Australian National University.

At present, I am particularly interested in anomaly detection problems for complex data structures and its applications in diverse fields. I also spend some time thinking about the role that Statistics should play in this “new” AI and Machine Learning era, do you know?
